Mark Wahlberg Once Snuck Beer Into a Prison for Post Malone: Listen

Only Post Malone would try to bring a 12-pack of Bud Light into an active prison. Mark Wahlberg phoned into On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday, March 4, and revealed the time he snuck beer onto set with the rapper while filming upcoming Netflix movie Spenser Confidential.

Wahlberg explained he started hanging out with Post Malone after leaning the “Circles” artist would frequent his burger joint Wahlburgers. Post Malone then confided in the Oscar-nominated actor that he’s always wanted to be “killed” in a movie so naturally Wahlberg found a role for him — but it made Spenser Confidential director Peter Berg nervous.

“Our director had never met him and he was a little worried … but I was convinced that Post could do it,” Wahlberg recalled to Seacrest, setting up the story. “And then Post was just supposed to show up on the day and sometimes musicians can be late or not show up at all so we finally get the call he’s at the trailer and we go over there and there’s Bud Lights everywhere so Pete’s in a panic.”

Wahlberg added that Post Malone would then only talk in a high pitch voice, leaving Pete “now terrified."

“Then we started to go over to the prison which is an open, active prison and Post is trying to bring a 12-pack in there and I was like you can’t do that,” Wahlberg hilariously recalled. “We’re in a sectioned off part of the prison, but it’s still an active prison, so I said I could probably get one in a Dunkin Donuts’ cup — they never check the Dunkin Donuts’ cup — so we got one in for him to calm his nerves.”

At the end of the day, Wahlberg concluded that Post Malone nailed the scene.

“He absolutely blew everyone away,” Mark shared.
