Lizzo has been on fire since releasing her third studio album and major debut Cuz I Love You which features hit “Truth Hurts.” The songstress previously shared that the empowerment anthem came after a boyfriend broke up with her via voicemail.

“What happened was out of the blue, out of nowhere, he left a voicemail," Lizzo explained on-air. "And he said, ‘Hey, I just want to let you know I’m getting back with so and so and she means the world to me and I can’t lose her so like please don’t connect me, don’t write me on social media,’ … It was like really strangely professionally and cold,’” Lizzo continued. “… It broke my heart but instead of being sad about it, I had to go to work and I had to go to the studio. … I was crying and the producer was like, ‘What is wrong?’ And I just proceeded to tell him about everything. ... But, you know, I use these life experiences to create my music … I’m supposed to be telling these stories to help other people while helping myself.”
