Sisanie Recalls Her Birth Story, Maxon Being in NICU and Much More!

Sisanie is back! The mama to twins Maxon and Aiza returned to On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday, August 28, after taking time off for her maternity leave and we couldn’t be more excited to have her back. Not only did we pamper Sis with a “breast milk facial” and acupuncture massage — yes, while live on-air  😂 — but we also finally got all the details on becoming a mom from Sisanie herself!

If you’re a dedicated listener, you’ll remember that we all took bets for when Sisanie would give birth and, of course, Ryan nailed it, guessing the exact date.

“I went into labor May 2 and that was the day that you guessed which is the weirdest thing!” Sisanie recalled to Ryan on Tuesday. “I went into labor that morning and went to the hospital, having contractions like 5 or 6 minutes apart so I didn’t think it was that big of a deal, but right when I got in, I was experiencing a lot of pain … and they were like ‘You’re in pain! It looks like these babies are going to come today!’ And that was it!”

Sisanie explained that she had to have a C-section because Maxon was breech.

“Since Maxon was breech, my doctor doesn’t do deliveries if both babies are not head down, … so we did [a C-section] and 3:37 p.m. Aiza comes and 3:39 p.m. Maxon,” Sis recalled. “And all of a sudden, they gave me Aiza and said Maxon has to go up to NICU and it just all happened so fast.”

“We were prepared for the NICU because twins can be born premature, you never know, but I wasn’t prepared for them being separated,” Sisanie continued. “I didn’t think that was going to happen so Michael goes with Maxon to the NICU and then my sister comes and right way it’s like get Aiza on the boob, start breastfeeding … it was a team effort!”

Maxon was then released from NICU 48 hour later and reunited with mom.

“He had fluid in his lungs which is very common when babies are born via c-section,” she added. “It was such an overwhelming experience and it was kind of crazy because since Maxon was in the NICU we had Aiza for two days to ourselves so it felt like we just had one baby so it was kind of a good way to ease into it almost and then Maxon finally joined us.”

Relive Sisanie’s big return in the audio below and clips above and stay tuned for more because our girl Sis is back! 🙌
