Wait, what! If you are a Bachelor fan, then you may have noticed that Arie Luyendyk Jr. shared on his Instagram that he and fiancée Lauren Burnham flew to the Maldives to meet with Bachelorette Becca Kufrin for the season 14 finale — but it never aired. Fans were perplexed considering how Becca and Arie ended things — never forget when Arie dumped Becca on live TV after proposing to her only to reveal he wanted to be with runner-up Lauren instead — so we had to know, did Becca really wanna see Arie and why didn’t it air?
“I’m not sure why [it didn’t air],” Becca revealed when she called into On Air With Ryan Seacrest with her new fiancé Garrett Yrigoyen on Wednesday, August 8. “I think there was just so much content between my last days with the guys and them meeting my family that they wanted to just focus on those two relationships that were unfolding.”
Arie had posted to Instagram the day of the finale revealing that Lauren and him “flew to the Maldives at The Bachelor and Becca’s request” and that it “was really positive for all of us.”
Becca told Ryan on-air that she hasn’t even seen the post yet, but that yes, the meeting did occur.
“To be quite honest, we’ve been traveling so much doing press that I haven’t even seen that photo, but it was just a conversation,” she explained. “It was a brief one and really it was just us wishing each other the best and moving on with our lives.”
And moving on she has! Becca is now engaged to Garrett and couldn’t be happier. The duo made it official during the season 14 finale, where Becca handed out the final rose to Garrett and sent home Blake Horstmann. Garrett got down on one knee and popped the question with a stunning gold and 3-diamond oval Neil Lane-designed ring.
The couple are no focusing on living their relationship out in public and being “50/50.”
As for who Becca wants to see be crowned the next Bachelor, she doesn’t have a top pick.
“I honestly don’t know!” Becca told Ryan. “I think they have a couple top great contenders … [They] have Blake and Jason and Wills and Colton, who all made it very far in the journey, and I think any one of them would be amazing because they’re all such great standup men and they deserve to find their person just like I did.”
