'Bachelor' Alum Molly Mesnick Weighs In on Arie, Becca, Lauren Drama

Bachelor Nation fans will remember that nine years ago bachelor Jason Mesnick shocked the audience when he revealed during the season 13 After the Final Rose special that he’d changed his mind and had dumped fiancée Melissa Rycroft for runner-up Molly Malaney. Fast-forward to today and Jason and Molly have been happily married for almost a decade.

Molly stopped by On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday, March 6, to discuss the shocking season 22 finale where bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr. dumped fiancée Becca Kufrin to pursue a relationship with runner-up Lauren Burnham and revealed that she hopes Lauren gives Arie a chance, given her similar situation.

“Hopefully she’s as dumb as I am because I’ve been married for 8 years,” Molly shared with Ryan, recalling her own experience.

“We took a really long time to get our relationship going so if Lauren and Arie are together after today, this is where the challenge starts for them,” Molly continued. “Because, first of all, we didn’t have social media when I was on the show and so they’ve got a whole bag of hate coming their way in the next week. But Jason and I dated long distance for ten months before I moved to settle and then we got engaged shortly there after so we kind of used this as a reset button to get to know each other all over again and then kind of start a relationship.”

Molly revealed that Lauren hasn’t reached out to her yet, but that Jason did connect with Arie.

“Arie sat down with Jason after he had already broken up with Becca which I wish more than anything he would have gotten ahold of Jason beforehand,” Molly said, adding that she thinks Becca will be “more than OK” following that devastating breakup.
