If you watched The Bachelor season 22 finale last night, you witnessed the most shocking and dramatic finale ever — but tonight’s After the Final Rose special is what we’re really waiting for.
Afte proposing to Becca Kufrin, Arie Luyendyk Jr. then changed his mind and dumped her on camera, devastatingly revealing during the finale that he wants to instead pursue a future with runner-up Lauren Burnham.
So will Lauren take Arie back tonight during the After the Final Rose special? Host Chris Harrison phoned into On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday, March 6, and revealed that yes, he thinks she will.
“We don’t know [what Lauren B. thinks yet],” Chris explained to Ryan on-air. “That’s what you’re going to find out tonight, that’s what we’re going to do live. As crazy as it’s going to be for Arie to see Becca, I think the most uncomfortable or odd situation will be him talking to Lauren and watching Lauren’s perspective … [but] I think she takes him back.”
Chris added that in Arie’s defense, he did inform both him and now-former fiancée Becca that he was “struggling” with his decision and still thinking about runner-up Lauren B.
“I talked to Arie a few times and he did mention to me ‘I’m struggling with this, I really do care about Becca, but I am struggling that I still think about Lauren so much. I cannot get this girl out of my mind’ and … then finally I get the call after the holidays, probably into February, … and he says ‘Look, … I want to have a talk with her and make this work.’”
