Teddy Swims is loving being a dad.
The "Lose Control" singer and his girlfriend Raiche Wright welcomed their first child together in June, after first announcing they were expecting their new addition at the start of the year. They revealed that they had officially become parents with the birth of their son on June 23, though they did not disclose his name.
In a recent chat with People, Swims opened up about becoming a father and his son's growing personality while heaping praise on his partner.
"We got a 4 month old, so as far as Mama goes, it's her job right now [feeding him] and for me for the foreseeable future is just being along for the ride," he said. He continued to gush over his little one, "Man, he's gotten to the place now over the last couple months where he's smiling and laughing and playing now. It's just so wonderful."
He continued, "Now when I walk into a room, he looks at me and he smiles, and he knows I'm there."
While he has made some special memories with his son already, Swims admits that fatherhood is both "the f---ing coolest" and "a terrifying thing."
"I could so easily mess this up, but as long as I act in the right heart and the right mentality and the right intention... I just look like I know what I'm doing," he said, adding, "Every time I look at him, I was like, 'Hey.' He just smiles at me. And I know he knows we have a relationship, which is something so incredible that's only going to get deeper and more beautiful as it goes. It's such an amazing thing, and there's nothing like it in the world."
