Taylor Swift has broken her silence on the horrific wildfires plaguing Los Angeles.
On her Instagram stories, she shared a handwritten note to fans, writing, "The fires in California have devastated so many families, and it's been heartbreaking to see these stories unfold. So much suffering, loss, and destruction. As so many people embark on some of the most challenging times of their lives, there are also so many amazing organizations and groups banding together to help these communities rebuild."
Swift added of how she has helped, listing ten organizations that she's personally donated to, writing, "These are the organizations I've donated to. If you feel compelled or able to donate, please do."
The organizations she listed include 211 LA, California Community Foundation Fund, Direct Relief, Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Los Angeles Unified School District Education Foundation Emergency Relief Fund, MusiCares, and the Pasadena Educational Foundation Eaton Fire Response Fund.
There have been so many people and organizations coming together to support Los Angeles through this devastating time. One of the largest donation efforts taking place is currently underway at The Dream Center, a resource center focused on providing support to those affected by homelessness, hunger, crisis and more. The Dream Center is partnering with iHeartMedia to support those who have lost everything in these terrible fires. iHeartMedia and The Dream Center have set up trucks to receive and distribute supplies donated by thousands of local residents who want to do what they can to help their impacted friends and neighbors. As of Thursday, January 16th, 32,000 individuals have directly benefited from these donation efforts, with many more expected to be aided in the coming weeks. Through their collaboration, iHeartMedia and The Dream Center have raised more than $1.4 million, and secured over $2.4 million worth of essential supplies and resources, from the community to help those who have been displaced.
