Naomi Campbell Shares Article That Calls Tyra Banks ‘The Real Mean Girl’

It's the supermodel feud as old as time: Naomi Campbell versus Tyra Banks.

On Tuesday morning (November 17), Naomi appeared to add gasoline to the seemingly flickering flames of her long-standing feud with fellow supermodel Tyra by posting an article from The Things titled “Here’s Why Fans Are Starting To Think Tyra Banks Is The Real Mean Girl, Not Naomi Campbell” to her Instagram Story.

According to Page Six, the article that Naomi shared called out a few controversial moments from Tyra's time as host of “America’s Next Top Model,” which the Dancing with the Stars host addressed earlier this year after the Internet called her out for her "toxic" behavior on the show.

As fans know, Tyra and Naomi's feud spans decades. Both ladies came up as supermodels in the early ’90s and have had what some have deemed as a competitive relationship ever since. Last year, Tyra spoke about their alleged feud, telling the Wall Street Journal it “wasn’t a rivalry.”

"I’m very sensitive to that word because a rivalry is between two equals to me whereas one was very dominant, she was a supermodel, and I was just this new girl that had got on a plane from Paris and was studying fashion and magazines," she said. "As much as I was booking fashion shows, people didn’t know I was going home at night crying my eyes out because the woman I was looking up to seemed like she just didn’t want me to be there and was doing everything in her power to make me go away."

In 2005, Tyra invited Naomi to appear on her talk show, The Tyra Show, where the two discussed their long-standing feud. While it turned into more of a way for Tyra to air her grievances with Naomi, who, of course, defended herself, it resulted in a truce of sorts as the two were on good terms for a few years after. Naomi even praised Tyra during an interview with ELLE in 2013, telling the magazine, “I’m proud of her as a woman of color. She’s given girls opportunity, and God bless her.”
