Lea Michele Gushes Over Married Life, Future Kids & Her Christmas Album!

Lea Michele’s happiness is seriously contagious. The songstress stopped by On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday, October 29, and gushed over married life and detailed her new holiday album Christmas In the City.

“It means he did good!” Lea gushed after Seacrest complimented her on her stunning engagement ring and wedding bands from husband Zandy Reich. “I gave him zero direction,” she added of the proposal and ring. “… And I swear — this is going to sound like ‘I do not believe you!’ — but when he proposed, I didn’t even look at [the ring]. I was just so shocked. I like blacked out. It wasn’t until the next morning that I was like, ‘Oh my God! This is gorgeous!’”

The Glee alum and Reich got engaged in April 2018 and tied the knot a year later in March 2019.

“We had talked about [getting engaged], but he really did such a good job of making me think it wasn’t going to happen for a really long time,” Lea added of the proposal. “He’s such a straight shooter that I didn’t think there were any games being [played]. He was like, ‘You know, look, maybe next year’ … so I didn’t think twice about it so then when it happened I blacked out,” she recalled. “Like, I fully blacked out. I was like ‘Are you joking?’ I think I kept saying ‘Are you joking?’”

The songstress is also looking forward to creating a family with Reich. While talking about Halloween, Lea admitted she isn’t into the holiday but once she becomes a mom, that’ll change.

“I am not into [Halloween] and I feel like when I tell people that they get like really offended,” Lea said. “They’re like, ‘What!? You don’t want to dress up?’ And I’m like, ‘No. I’m 33. I’m good.’ And also as an actor, I dress up for a living. … The last thing I want to do on my day off is be someone else.”

Once she has a kids though, that’s a different story.

“Oh, then they’re going to be like the cutest thing ever,” she told Sisanie. “I feel like sushi is number one on the list — I want my kids to dress up like a lion or a taco— everything cute and adorable I want that for sure.”

Until then, she’ll be celebrating the holidays with her hubby and family as well as the release of her first-ever holiday album Christmas In The City.

“I loved my first two records and it was such an amazing experience, but I think where I’m at in my life right now, being in this happy place, I felt like it was really the time,” Lea gushed of her 11-track holiday album. “I’ve always wanted to make a Christmas record because … that time of year, no matter how busy we are, I always go home … I’m with my family and it’s really for me the happiest time of the year and I look forward to it all year long and it felt like it was right.”

The album features a bevy of beloved holiday classics as well as collabs with the likes of Darren Criss, Jonathan Groff and Cynthia Eric and was produced by Glee music producer Adam Anders.

“I really wanted the album to be happy,” Lea added. “You want to be able to play it and have it be really beautiful … and easy to listen to."
