The fight to close the gender wage gap, the battle continues even from the top actresses in Hollywood.
So, I was reading this story about Octavia Spencer and I wanted to share. Octavia is a flipping Academy Award winning actress and she STILL can't get equal pay as her male co-stars for her new Netflix show Madam C.J. Walker.
This is where LeBron (my NEW hero) steps in. Octavia opened up about her personal fight for equal pay while at The Sundance Film Festival panel and described when LeBron James (who is EP on the show) "had to intervene" to make sure she received the same pay as her male co-stars.
"I have to say, when I was negotiating my deal for Madam C.J., LeBron Jame had to intervene - we NEED all our male counterparts to be in the fight with us."
And that was the moment I fell in LOVE with LeBron because this to me is sooo cool. I can't tell you how many messages I get from women asking how to approach having this convo with their bosses, so I just saw this story and wanted to share with you all. Maybe it'll inspire you to ask for what you DESERVE and maybe LeBron is your new hero too!
