So, apparently we’ve officially moved on from those predictable "golden retriever" boyfriends… those sweet, always-adoring types we’ve fangirled over forever.
Now, the hottest thing? The “black cat” boyfriend.
Characters like Conrad from The Summer I Turned Pretty, Felix in Too Much, and even Carmy from The Bear.
These guys aren’t overly affectionate or gushy. They’re more moody, mysterious, and emotionally intense.
They show love in small but meaningful ways...like a quick glance or a rare compliment
And for some weird reason... it feels way more special than over-the-top romantic lines because you know they mean it.
What’s so addictive? It’s that slow-burn love—less fireworks, more deep, simmering connection. Not perfect, but real, and totally irresistible.
UGHHHH I have totally dated a guy like this and it’s so true about the infatuation you build around this type of energy. Looking back now, I’m glad I experienced it because it’s def not for me!
