Over the years, we’ve seen college courses pop up on icons like Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Bad Bunny and now, L.A.'s very own Kendrick Lamar is getting his own course!
This fall, students at Temple University can enroll in a course called "Kendrick Lamar and the Morale of M.A.A.D City."
The course focuses on the rapper's life, music, and cultural impact. It will also dive into the socioeconomic and cultural conditions of Compton…and the urban policies that shaped the narratives in his music.
The timing also couldn’t be more perfect…after Kendrick’s rap battle with Drake, Super Bowl halftime performance, dominating the Grammys with “Not Like Us”… and his wildly successful joint tour with SZA, that I actually got to see and thought was amazing!!
The class kicks off in August and enrollment is open now!!
So cool! If I was still in college, I would take this course.
