Big news over the weekend that Amazon is developing a software for humanoid robots that are designed to ‘spring out’ of delivery vans to bring us our packages.
They are reportedly testing the two-legged, two-armed electric-powered bots at a “humanoid park” in San Francisco where they are being put through an indoor obstacle course training to replace Amazon delivery workers in the field.
The company also recently bought 20,000 electric vehicles which will be outfitted for the robots…and hope to have 100,000 by 2030.
Though robots would serve as delivery workers, the company says humans can still work as drivers of the vans without slowing things down.
Robots are also being tested at Amazon fulfillment warehouses.
Robots are expected to reduce order fulfillment times by up to 25%!
