LAX is finally getting a proper Metro connection!
Starting Friday, the new 900-Million-Dollar LAX/Metro Transit Center opens up at Aviation and 96th Street.
It's a game-changer for anyone flying in or out of LA.
You can now hop on the Metro's K or C Lines and ride straight to the airport area, skipping all that LAX traffic.
It's all part of LA's big push to get ready for the 2028 Olympics and make public transit more accessible.
Now, at first, if you take Metro to this new LAX station, you’ll get on a shuttle to take you to the terminals. But that is TEMPORARY. The Automated People Mover is expected to be up and running early next year…so that will make it even easier. .
The station itself is pretty sleek, with a bike hub, restrooms, and even a cool spiral sculpture.
And if you don't have a TAP card, no worries—you can buy or reload one there, or even use a virtual TAP card on your phone. Single Metro rides cost a buck-75.
It's a big step forward for LA's transit scene!
