Apparently, this all started with a Timothée Chalamet look-a-like contest in New York on October 27th…where he actually showed up! And now these things are everywhere!
Then London got in on the action with two Paul Mescal lookalike contests and one for Harry Styles.
And they really haven’t stopped: Dev Patel in San Francisco, Zayn Malik in Brooklyn, Jeremy Allen White in Chicago, Zendaya in Oakland, Jacob Elordi in Australia and on and on…
Glen Powell gave the winner of his contest a part in his next movie.
And now it’s hit LA in a big way. Recently, LA hosted lookalike contests for Peso Pluma, Shohei Ohtani, Shrek and Dodger Pitcher Anthony Banda…to name a few.
Most of them offered $50 prize but Shrek was $500. The Peso Pluma contest was actually a $50 gift card to King Taco and a fake gold chain...
So, it’s really all just for fun and joy!
The organizers said it kind of started out as a little joke but a lot of people responded and signed up so we could see more and more of these in the near future here in LA!
