Photos for social media are big business. I was at the Glendale Galleria last week and noticed a selfie store. You paid $25 to go in for an hour and take pics in all of their different selfie spots.
Apparently, people pay for these Instagram-worthy snapshots.
Well, Tyra Banks wants a piece of all this too! She is launching ModelLand in the spring.
Unlike many of the temporary pop-up exhibits in big cities across the country, ModelLand is set to be a permanent stay in Santa Monica.
There are lighting setups that adjust to complement your skin tone.
Plus, Tyra will use the venue to scout for models of all ages and body types.
Imagine Disneyland meets “America's Next Top Model.” That’s the idea.
Tickets for ModelLand start at $59. The top-tier experience including a fantasy photoshoot is 1500 bucks. Guests leave with a personalized digital look book of photos they can post online.
And maybe you’ll see Tyra Banks walking around, offering to take photos with you too.
She says this is her baby and that she’s going to be there all the time! We’ll see this Spring!
