We all saw as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry got engaged, got married (literally, we all watched) and then got pregnant and had their son, Archie.
But now that baby Archie is about 6 months old, what has life been like for the new parents, and specifically Meghan as a new mom in the spotlight?
A new clip from their documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, which will debut in the U.K. this Sunday and give viewers a look inside the royal couple's tour of southern Africa, actually highlights what life has been like for Meghan.
And as you can expect, there is a lot of stress that comes from raising a royal baby and being a first-time mom.
When asked by Tom Bradby about the negative attention from the press, Meghan explained:
“Any woman, especially when they’re pregnant, you’re really vulnerable, and so that was made really challenging. And then when you have a newborn, you know... So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed. It’s um…yeah. I guess, also thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I’m okay, but it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”
When Tom further asked if it was fair to say it's been a struggle for Meghan, she agrees.
Much of this probably doesn't come as a surprise being that Meghan and Harry decided to launch legal action against Mail on Sunday due to them publishing a private letter than Meghan sent to her father. They also are taking legal action against News UK (owner of The Sun) and MGN (former owner of The Mirror) regarding alleged illegal interception of voicemail messages.
So, yeah, Meghan could be doing a bit better. And on top of the press attacking her for simply finding her life partner with Prince Harry, she's also a new mom dealing with all that comes with it.
Sooooo can we give Meghan a break, guys?? She absolutely deserves it.
