The country is coming together to pray for NFL player Damar Hamlin after a terrifying moment during Monday Night Football on January 2. The Buffalo Bills safety suffered cardiac arrest on the field after a tackle during Monday's game, causing the NFL to suspend the game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
After receiving medical attention on the field for almost 20 minutes, Hamlin was rushed to a nearby hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Sports announcer Matt "Money" Smith joined Ryan Seacrest on-air on Tuesday, January 3, to share an update on Hamlin, as well as the feel-good news we need that fans have been rallying together by donating to Hamlin's toy drive fundraiser as he seeks treatment in the hospital.
Donations have been pouring into the GoFundMe fundraiser he started in 2020 to raise money to purchase toys for children.
“As I embark on my journey to the NFL, I will never forget where I come from and I am committed to using my platform to positively impact the community that raised me," Hamlin shared at the time. "I created The Chasing M’s Foundation as a vehicle that will allow me to deliver that impact.”
