Macklemore is back with new music! The singer joined Ryan Seacrest on-air on Thursday, September 15, to share how his hit new single came about and how social media like TikTok has significantly changed the music industry.
"It has a throwbackness to it," Macklemore shared of Maniac's success. "It's a relatable record. You make all these songs and then ... you lose track of what they actually are in the studio."
The Grammy winner shared his wife also helped select the track out of the many songs he's been working on.
"My wife got a Dropbox link and started playing music for people and she took everyone to the car and played the album and they came back in and were like, 'Yo! That 'Maniac' though! That's the one!'"
The release of “Maniac” comes as Macklemore is currently wrapping up a North American tour with Imagine Dragons. The 19-date tour kicked off August 5 at Rice Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City and ends tonight, Sept. 15, at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles.
