Jennifer Hudson is living out her dream and is thankful for every second of it. The American Idol alum and EGOT winner joined Ryan Seacrest on-air on Tuesday, September 13, to celebrate the premiere of her brand new talk show, the Jennifer Hudson Show.
"It's so surreal. It's a dream of mine," JHud shared with Seacrest, who was on hand when she rose to fame on Idol back in 2004. [The opening reel of the show] shows me how far I’ve come. Did I ever think that I would get here? … I was literally processing it in that moment.”
The Grammy winner shared that she wants her show and "couch" to be a place for everyone to come.
"The thing that has gotten me this far is my passion and it's coming from the heart," she added, revealing she might also perform here and there on the show.
“That’ll vary. I don’t think I'll ever pull a mic from under my chair and start singing a song, but it's more of an expression," she explained. "It depends on what happens in that moment. If it strikes a cord. … And sometimes I want the people to sing because it's not just about me. ... I want it to be a place where everyone can come … where we can all come together … in love and peace and positivity.”
The actress and songstress added that she'll of course continue her career in music and film, too.
