PSA! Sisanie shared on-air there's now a sriracha shortage. It all comes down to both a supply chain issue due to the pandemic and a shortage of chili peppers needed to make the sauce. Severe weather conditions have caused crops to fail and smaller harvests of peppers.
Sis warned for all the hot sauce lovers out there that the company said it would not take any new orders before September. Any orders submitted before Labor Day would be produced in the fall because of low inventory. People have also already noticed shelves being wiped out in stores!
“Unfortunately, this is out of our control and without this essential ingredient we are unable to produce any of our products,” the company explained in a release.
