Diplo is no stranger to the music world, but he recently released his first solo album after 18 years in the industry. Often collaborating with other artists on tracks or producing for various singers, Diplo's self-titled album takes a dive into his own work, coming nearly two decades after his first solo album, Florida.
The DJ and producer chatted with Ryan Seacrest on-air about why he decided to take his work solo instead of his usual turn to collaborate with others. “These days with streaming services and radio and things like that, I think if you build your brand strong enough, you don’t need to always be like ‘I need so and so artist on this record’ because those big stars, they don’t really guarantee hits anymore.”
