For Charlamagne tha God, it's all about "looking for that deeper meaning of life." The Breakfast Club host and DJ joined Ryan Seacrest on-air on Friday, October 1, to chat new late-night series Tha God’s Honest Truth with Charlamagne Tha God and revealed he wants to try ayahuasca, a psychoactive used both socially and as ceremonial spiritual medicine.
Charlamagne shared his new Comedy Central series is like "a letter to America every week … in regards to different subjects like why Black people don’t trust the FBI … and critical race theory" and will offer an opportunity to "explore a lot of those topics in a comedic way."
The host added he's always been inquisitive, throwing it back to childhood when he'd read book after book to score free pizza, and that his overall obsession comes down to "mindfulness and mental health."
"I’m a tree hugger," Charlamagne added. "I’m the guy who can’t wait to try shrooms and ayahuasca. … That's what I’m really looking for, I'm looking for that deeper meaning of life. … What intrigues me is being the best version of myself. ... I just want to be the best version of myself.”
