Alessia Cara Shares Inspo Behind Two New Tracks, the Best Croissant & More

Alessia Cara is back with brand new music off her forthcoming third studio album. The Grammy-winning songstress shared the two tracks, "Shapeshifter" and "Sweet Dream," represent the duality of her new album. Plus, she finally tracked down the perfect croissant and the search for the best iced coffee is next!

"'Shapeshifter' is kind of like the opposite to 'Sweet Dream' in a couple ways," Alessia shared with Ryan Seacrest on-air. "'Sweet Dream' represents feeling stuck and lost and frustrated … and then there's also the other end which is 'Shapeshifter' which is confident and witty and kind of sassy and it has this lightness to it that I felt represents the more confident side of the record so it's just about getting my feelings hurt and expressing myself,” she shared.

And when it comes to those hints of insomnia, it's true.

"Yes, I do. I’ve always had an issue with sleep," Alessia explained. "My relationship with nighttime and sleep has always been skewed. … More particularly, in the last year with everything going on, my anxiety levels skyrocketed and it was impossible to turn my brain off."

So what does Alessia do to cope with the all-too-relatable issue?

"It's hard. It's like an ongoing process I feel like now I got in a groove. I try to take a hot shower or bath before bed, do some exercise, … I spray lavender around, I light a candle. I do bunch of things," she added, sharing blue light glasses also help."
