If you feel like you’re back in 8th grade trying to talk to your crush, you’re not alone. Megan Thee Stallion admitted on the iHeartRadio Music Awards Live! Presented by Dr. Pepper Zero Sugar red carpet ahead of the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards she too suffers from post-pandemic social anxiety.
“Honestly, I'm a little nervous!” the “Savage” songstress told host Elvis Duran. “I haven’t been around a lot of people in a long time so I’m like, ‘Oh, my gosh! What’s everybody going to say? Are they going to be excited to see me? I’m excited to see them. Should be I friendly? Am I too friendly? I don’t know what to say!”
The awards show marked a return to live shows and music for both fans and the artists, who safely attended and performed after being tested and in masks, etc.
“I was not doing my makeup, my hair … this is the first time I’ve got dolled up in a while,” Megan added. “I was like, ‘Ooo girl!’”
The Grammy winner is up for numerous awards at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards, including Female Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration feat. Beyoncé(WINNER), Hip Hop Song of the Year, Hip Hop Artist of the Year, Best Music Video, Favorite Music Choreography, and TikTok Bop of the Year.
