Amanda Kloots is taking it day-by-day. The new The Talk co-host shared with Ryan Seacrest how she’s coping following the tragic death of her husband Nick Cordero.
Cordero died last July of COVID-19 complications at age 41 after he was hospitalized for months with the illness. The Broadway actor was in a medically induced coma, had to have his leg amputated and ultimately lost his battle to the virus, leaving Kloots and their now 1-year-old son, Elvis, behind.
“It’s a day-to-day struggle still,” Kloots shared with Seacrest on-air. “I definitely choose to live a happy and positive lifestyle,” she added of how she’s coping. “Every day is a journey and grief is something you just have to get through.”
Kloots admitted that she still cries every single day, but that she chooses to look for happiness.
“I cry every day still, but I find the things in life that make me happy and that I can say I’m grateful for because there are so many of those things and I just try to find them every single day,” she added.
The dancer, who has since joined CBS’ The Talk as a permanent co-host, previously shared she used part of Cordero’s ashes to make a new meaningful ring. She revealed that the gem in the center is Cordero's birthstone, a sapphire, and said the ring is engraved with her late husband’s initials.
In addition to the ring, Kloots revealed that she also had a custom vase made that includes some of Cordero's ashes.
