2021 might be the most anticipated year yet and Ryan Seacrest will be there to help you welcome it with open arms! Seacrest announced on-air on Tuesday, December 7, he’ll return to help ring in 2021 on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2021 with returning hosts Lucy Hale, Billy Porter and Ciara.
Seacrest, Hale and Porter will hold down the fort socially safe and distanced in Times Square while Ciara will be in Los Angeles again. The countdown to 2021 kicks off on ABC at 8/7c on December 31.
That said, the annual event however is of course going to be closed to the public this year given the global COVID-19 pandemic and socially safe distance guidelines.
“2020 has been a trying year for the world and I’m thrilled to have Billy and Lucy join me in ushering in a new year with fresh beginnings,” Seacrest shared via press release. “We look forward to making sure it’s a night for everyone to remember.”
This year’s virtual celebration marks the 49th anniversary of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve and will continue to feature a bevy of live performances. Country crooner Jessie James Decker will return as Powerball correspondent for the second year, revealing the Powerball First Millionaire of the Year winner just after midnight on January 1, 2021.
