JP Saxe’s initial move to Los Angeles wasn’t as glamorous as you’d think.
“I was 19-years-old when I moved to Los Angeles. I was also very frightened. I slept in my car a bunch. I rented a docked boat in Marina del Rey, not to use as a boat, but to sleep in cause it was the cheapest thing I could find on Airbnb,” the “If the World Was Ending” singer shared with Ryan Seacrest on-air on Friday, October 9.
Yes, a docked boat!
“19-year-old me doesn’t have any money trying to find the cheapest way to live in Los Angeles and the cheapest thing I could find on Airbnb was a docked boat in Marina del Rey for $7 a night,” he explained.
The “A Little Bit Yours” singer has obviously found a more suitable living situation and is on the rise. Seacrest shared he crushed his first-ever solo TV performance recently on Live With Kelly & Ryan.
“I certainly missed Julia Micheals,” he added of performing solo for the first time sans collaborator and girlfriend Michaels. “She’s been my comfort zone this whole year, but it was exciting.”
The Hold It Together singer has also been busy in the studio this year.
“I’m working on an album for the top of the year,” he confirmed. “I’m in the midst of a lot of music and an album I’m excited for.”
