Sushi Chef Teaches Sisanie How to Make Sushi at Home! Watch & Learn

Yum! Sisanie teamed up with local sushi chef and director of True World Foods Los Angeles, a local fresh fish distributor, Ken Sato and made sushi at home with the help of their temaki hand roll sets in the latest episode of Off-Air With Sisanie above.

The kit is perfect for family night and a great way to make dinner interactive — especially amid quarantine as your favorite sushi restaurant might not be open for dining at.

“This is something that pretty much anyone can do very easily,” Chef Sato shared of temaki, a hand roll. “A good example of this would be basically if you’re doing tacos at home, its almost the exact same thing. You’re just preparing the ingredients and everyone is just putting it together in their hand. Very simple.”

You can order the sushi making kit with fresh fish straight from True World Foods or you can order ingredients from your local fish market.

All you need is rice, fresh tuna and other preferred fish, seaweed, spicy mayo, soy sauce and a few more ingredients.

One pro tip? Don’t smash the rice, “slice” it instead!
