Kelsea Ballerini Shares Cutest Story How She Met Her Husband Morgan

Kelsea Ballerini is helping to pay tribute to the incredible first responders who are risking their lives everyday on the frontlines of the Coronavirus pandemic, joining Ryan Seacrest for a special performance during tonight’s May 8th iHeartRadio's First Responder Fridays with FirstNet Built with AT&T. The songstress Zoomed with Seacrest on-air on Friday and teased her performance, as well as dished how she met her husband, Morgan Evans, and also how she's staying connected with fans during quarantine.

The country crooner tied the knot with Evans in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in December 2017 after first meeting while hosting Australia's Country Music Channel Awards in 2016.

“We hosted their award show together which is hilarious and afterwards he was like ‘Come to my dressing room, let’s take a shot of tequila,’” Kelsea recalled. “And so we did; hung out and got married. … You can like watch it back and see us hosting together and I’m like all googly-eyed,” she jokingly added. “I was super nervous and thought he was super cute so I was like awkward flirting while trying to read a teleprompter.”

Kelsea will be the first country singer to join artists who are paying it forward performing virtually for #iHeartFirstResponders.

“I feel like there’s no better time for music,” she shared. “I think it’s just like the biggest connector and I know for me as a fan it brings me so much peace to listen to music.”

During tonight’s show, Kelsea teased she’ll perform a medley of her hits as well as a Fleetwood Mac cover. She’ll also perform her collab with Halsey, “The Other Girl,” for the second time ever off her recently released album kelsea.

“My album came out right when everything started to get bad,” she also reflected with Seacrest, sharing how she surprised fans with pizza. “All I care about is the people who care about my music getting it and feeling connected … So we found a bunch of fans and got their addresses and dropped stuff off via drone.”
