Christina Applegate checked in with Ryan Seacrest on-air on Monday, March 23. The Dead to Me actress shared her community has followed suit when it comes to lifting moral amid quarantine like Italy, Barcelona and other countries.
Applegate shared that after coming together via her Los Angeles community's Facebook page, a neighbor set up for a band to play in the middle of their street Carole King’s “You’ve Got a Friend.”
“At 7 p.m. they played ‘You’ve Got a Friend’ really loud and had the whole community open their windows and play it on their record players and Alexas and the whole canyon sang ‘You’ve Got a Friend,’” Applegate shared. “… You could hear the whole canyon singing. … It [was] inspired by Italy and what they’re doing … but we need that. We need this moment of repose where we can stop and come together and realize we’re all in this together,” Applegate added. “…Our doors are all closed, but we can open our windows and play music.”
America, along with other counties, is practicing Safer At Home social distancing in an attempt to stop the spread of deadly virus COVID-19. As of March 23, more than 15,000 people have died from the virus around the globe.
