Kelly Clarkson plays an imperfect toy desperate for love from a child in the new movie UglyDolls.
The film tackles an age old issue that’s more important ever - to accept and love yourself and be comfortable in your own skin, which doesn’t really seem to be a problem Kelly struggles with and she’s well aware of that.
She tells USA Today: “I literally have this conversation with my husband and my assistant all the time.”
Jokingly adding: “Should I be less confident?”
Her self-worth comes from something Kelly realized long ago, that haters don’t matter much.
"I think once we let our ego go, (we) just get over the fact that everybody’s not going to like us – and that’s OK," she explains. “Because there will be people who do dig it. And even if they don’t, do you? You get one life. Who cares what everyone else thinks?"
UglyDolls is out now.
