Lizzo's been releasing powerful albums for more than half a decade now, but it’s her most recent effort Cuz I Love You that’s receiving the most attention and acclaim in large part because of its vulnerability.
She credits that newfound artistic honesty to a decision she made last summer to begin therapy.
She tells Rolling Stone: "It was really scary. But going on that journey of being vulnerable with someone who I didn’t know, and then learning how to be vulnerable with people that I do know, gave me the courage to be vulnerable as a vocalist."
Adding: "It’s a raw part of me that I didn’t allow myself to celebrate."
Lizzo's single "Juice" is out now.
