Sisanie Explains Terrifying New Dating Term ‘Cloaking’ to Ryan: Watch

Ghosting is nothing compared to "cloaking." The latest dating term to terrify all single individuals out there is called “cloaking” and it's like ghosting times 10.

As Sisanie explained to Ryan Seacrest on-air on Friday, April 12, cloaking someone means to completely vanish -- as in not show up for the date and then disappear off the face of the earth entirely.

“Cloaking is when a person doesn’t just stand you up for a date, they also block you on any app that you’ve previously communicated on,” said Rachel Thompson, a Mashable contributor who shared her experience being “cloaked” for the first time earlier this month with Fox News Lifestyle.

As Thompson explained, the phrase “cloaking” describes a person using a cloaking device to conceal themselves from sight. For example, the two people meet on a dating app and after he or she stands the other person up, they also delete all prior communication, texts and app associations.
