How Las Vegas Residencies Are Changing the Music Business

Over the last few years the idea of a Las Vegas residency has transformed from something aging artists almost did reluctantly at the twilight of their career into a first rate opportunity for today’s hottest artists to showcase their talents and in 2019 that’s turning out to be truer than ever.

This year alone we will see Cardi B begin a residency at Palms Casino’s KAOS, only a few months removed from winning Grammy’s Rap Album of the Year.

Likewise the most recent Oscar’s Best Song winner, Lady Gaga, is playing the Park MGM through November.

Drake has announced a massive deal with Wynn Resorts, with the first of several shows booked for May and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Almost every weekend you can catch either Marshmello, Calvin Harris or both spinning. Gwen Stefani, Janet Jackson, and Aerosmith all have long term deals and the list goes on.

Clearly, more than ever, for artists and fans Vegas is the place to be!
