Lupita Nyong’o starred in what was literally 2018’s biggest movie, Black Panther with a budget of over $200 million, but her next movie Little Monsters was made for less than $5 million.
She admits to the Hollywood Reporter the change was humbling, but incredible.
She goes on to say: "It keeps you awake and hungry. I feel like the best art is created out of hunger, a need to say something."
"I love having diversity in experience. I hope that my career is full of those things, full of things that are small and big alike," she adds.
Little Monsters will debut at the Sundance Film Festival later this month.
