Ed Sheeran has said in the past that a song called "We Are" was responsible for him getting his first record deal after a music executive heard him perform it in a pub.
And in new biography about Ed that hits shelves next week, it was revealed that he was inspired to write the song after experiencing the loss of a dear friend while Ed was only 14 years old.
A classmate named Stuart was killed in an auto accident while on a school ski trip and Ed says: "I wrote it while I got around to actually accepting it."
Stuart’s family was so touched by Ed's song they played it at his services and apparently find comfort knowing that very track helped his career take off.
