Why Don’t We Perform “8 Letters” Live In-Studio, Dish on Their Love Lives

We officially have this on repeat. Why Don’t We — Jonah, Corbyn, Daniel, Jack and Zachary — stopped by On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday, September 11, and performed their hit single “8 Letters” and dished on their love lives and more.

“I think we’ve grown more in the past two years, not even just as artists, but as people, than we have in the first five, six years of our teenage years,” the boys shared. “It’s just been like a crazy ride and a lot of finding ourselves and living this whole new lifestyle that happens to be a lot of fun.”

The group started out as friends and created the band after they — literally were sitting around and asked “why don’t we” just start our own group.

In February 2018, they released track “Trust Fund Baby,” which was penned by Ed Sheeran, a huge moment in their career.

“That was a crazy moment because we’ve all looked up to him for so long,” they continued of the dream collaboration. “We actually met last year at the VMAs on the red carpet and he came up to us and he knew who we were which was insane and about a month later all of a sudden our label came to us and were like, ‘You’ll never guess who wrote you a song’ And were like ‘Ed Sheeran?! What!’”
