Kendrick Lamar just achieved something last done by his idol, Eminem.
Kendrick’s 2012 debut good kid, m.A.A.d city has now been on the Hot 200 album charts for an unbelievable 300 weeks and counting.
Eminem’s Recovery was the last hip hop album to pass 300, spending 312 weeks on the list. His albums The Eminem Show and Curtain Call are the only other rap releases to do so.
But he and Kendrick have a long way to go to pass the #1 album overall-- Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon spent a monumental 937 weeks on the Hot 200.
