Tobias Jesso Jr. was one of the hottest names in music a few years back, after getting his big break writing Adele’s "When We Were Young."
He seemed to be on track for stardom before he vanished and that was actually by design, because working with Adele was his goal.
He tells Billboard: “The end goal was Adele. So it was funny that (her discovering him on YouTube) was the first thing that happened. Once it did, I was like, 'Great, if this works out, I’m quitting the artist thing.'"
"Talk about me as a songwriter, that’s all I want," he adds.
Since he’s got songs on Charlie Puth and Florence and the Machine’s new albums it sounds like it’s working out for Tobias!
