Halsey and G-Eazy have split after a year of dating. The couple, who collaborated on hit “Him & I,” announced on Tuesday, July 3, that they’ve decided to hit pause on their relationship.
“I normally keep this kind of thing private but provided our public nature I feel the need to inform my fans,” Halsey shared on social media. “G-Eazy and I are taking some time apart.”
“I’m eager to continue the upcoming passage of time dedicating myself to my art and my career, and the duration of my tour,” she concluded. “I wish him the best. Thanks for respecting our privacy at this time.”
The couple first started dating in the summer of 2017 and have packed on the PDA at numerous awards shows, where they’ve also performed together countless times, ever since.
Prior to Halsey's announcement, fans speculated the two had split after she tweeted lyrics from her 2015 track “Colors" earlier this week.
“You were a vision in the morning when the light came through. I know I’ve only felt religion when I’ve laid with you,” she quoted, and then clarified: “It’s really peculiar and beautiful when a song takes on a new meaning. When it feels like it’s about a different person, or when a lyric about something nice turns mean, or vice verse. The songs evolve as we/I do. How amazing.”
Fans also noticed that she's since deleted snaps of herself with a rapper.
On Tuesday, she also hinted at their separation by quoting new Drake song “8 Out of 10." Alongside a photo of herself in a bikini with her pup she wrote: “Kiss my dog on the forehead and then kiss ur ass goodbye. ✅” (In the song, Drake raps: “Kiss my son on the forehead then kiss your ass goodbye.”)
G-Eazy has yet to comment on the split.
