Camila Cabello’s departure from Fifth Harmony was made official right around the holidays in 2016, but she revealed to Rolling Stone the first seeds of wanting to go solo actually were planted back around 2013 when she was only 16.
The realization began when she started writing her own music and her initial idea was to create songs for the band, she explains:
"I was like, ‘I don't want to give this to any other people because this is about my first kiss. This is about this guy that I have a crush on. This is my story.’"
Her single “Never Be the Same,” which she co-wrote is out now.
