If you caught (er, obsessed over like us) Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding over the weekend and subsequently scrolled through Instagram any day in the past week, you likely saw just about every angle of Markle’s ethereal custom Givenchy gown. The best pics, however, came after the Internet compared it to Jennifer Lopez’s dress in 2010 rom com The Wedding Planner.
The Clare Waight Keller Givenchy designed gown featured a beateau neckline, long sleeves and drop waist — almost exactly like Lopez’s character in the flick.
“I saw that,” J.Lo said when she phoned into On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Thursday, May 24. “That is not true, I don’t think it’s true,” she added when Ryan mentioned people said Markle’s dress was inspired by her character. “They did it on Insta. 'It looked like it was inspired by,' but I don’t think so.”
Lopez hasn’t had spare time to spend on the gram, considering she’s wrapping up her Las Vegas residency, hit NBC show Shades of Blue and busy working on new music, including recently dropped track “Dinero” with DJ Khaled and Cardi B.
Cardi B. hails from The Bronx, just like J.Lo, but they didn’t meet until last year.
“I met her at the Tidal show last year, but before that, I followed her on Instagram before she was a rapper,” J.Lo shared with Ryan. “I just found her so amusing and funny. She was so raw and real and I was like, ‘Oh my God! This girl is hilarious!’ … I just became fascinated with her and then next thing you know she became this big rapper and when I got this song, I was like, 'This girl is from the Bronx, she’ll be so good on this record!' And that was it.”
The duo dropped the music video with DJ Khaled today and it doesn’t disppoint. In the sleek visual, filmed completely in black and white, J.Lo grills up steaks while wearing lingerie, dominates a game of strip poker and destroys a mega mansion clad in masquerade attire with the “Thru Your Phone” rapper.
