Melissa McCarthyโs got more than a starring role in her new comedy Life of the Party, she also wrote the movie alongside her husband, Ben Falcone, who in turn directed it.
Co-star Julie Bowen, who gets to play a villain, basically the opposite of her character on Modern Family tells Collider the husband and wife team is so talented it was a bit intimidating at first.
"I did not know how much they love to improvise. Iโve never worked with this group before, and theyโre a formidable group of people," she says. "And then, thereโs Melissa. I was just really overwhelmed with how much improv-ing they did and how much you have to shove your way in there."
She admits as the new girl of the group and playing the bad guy she was a little restrained at first. But added, โI think I did my job. I made a very hate-able person.โ
Life of the Party is in theaters today.
