It’s been a very mixed bag of highs and lows for Janet Jackson over the last couple of days.
It started on a sour note on Sunday with the announcement that the FYF Festival in Los Angeles, which she was slated to headline in July was suddenly cancelled.
But thankfully good news soon followed with the announcement that Janet will be receiving the Icon Award and performing at the Billboard Music Awards next Sunday, which will mark her first televised performance in nearly a decade.
The honor is well deserved as Janet has amassed 18 Billboard nominations over the years, taken home 10 and sold over 160 million records.
The Billboard Music Awards air live Sunday May 20 on NBC.
