It all happened after the I Feel Pretty actress revealed to Ellen DeGeneres earlier this week that she was borderline obsessed with the boy band member. After Ryan brought it up during their interview on-air on Friday, Amy got the surprise of a lifetime.
“Wait, I’m scared that he’s on the phone. Oh my God! I can’t handle it! Don’t do this to me. Don’t do this to me!” Amy exclaimed after Joey came through on the other line. “I am dead. I am dying. My husband [Chris Fischer] is looking at me from inside the house like 'What’s going on?' I’m like crying and blushing. This is a great gift. I owe you, Ryan.”
“The funny thing is I knew there was something there,” Joey joked before serenading Amy. “I was waiting for you to get married and now it’s even and all good so we can just do this.”
Joey is married to wife Barrett Williams. Amy recently tied the knot to James Beard Award-winning cookbook author Chris Fischer. The newlyweds got married in a surprise ceremony in front of 80 guests at an outdoor ceremony in Malibu this past February. The wedding — which was attended by Schumer’s pals including Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Aniston and Larry David — came just three months after Schumer, 36, and Fischer, 38 were first photographed together.
“I can’t handle it. My room was covered in posters of you,” Amy continued to tell Joey on-air. “Like, in a frightening way. I should have been investigated. Joey for life. Thank you for hanging tough through the years and and thank you for all your work and all your service you don’t even know you did for me,” she joked.
Amy added that her husband was seriously confused watching her freak out from another room.
“He’s so confused. He put the dogs in the house because they were barking to do me a favor and now I’m completely throwing myself at another married man.”
