There are more than a few hip hop heads who count Jay Z among the greatest rappers of all time.
So if anybody can tell you what the intangibles are that separate the average MC from the GOATs it would be Jay.
On the new episode of David Letterman’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction he offers his take.
"You can have a great voice, and you can just almost say anything. I think Snoop Dogg has a great voice, he can say 'One-two-three into the four,’” he says. “It just sounds good, right?"
He also weighs in on Eminem’s "amazing cadence and syncopation” saying that this is what makes him stand out from the rest. "You almost become a percussion inside the music."
"There's multiple ways to be really good. Some people just have it all," he says.
