Cue the tears. Bachelor alum Ben Higgins left spinoff Bachelor Winter Games admitting that he’s still not over his ex-fiancée Lauren Bushnell. While having an emotional and candid convo with Ashley Iaconetti and host Chris Harrison, he admitted that he's not ready to date again.
"The idea of going on a date sounds like a chore to me," he told pal and podcast co-host Ashley. "It doesn't sound fun. … It's like, when you get engaged, I truly was so excited about the idea that like, I'm gonna spend the rest of my life with this person," he said. "But I think I don't want to be hurt again. Like, I desire a relationship and I dream of kids and I dream of family and I dream of being a good dad and a good husband, but I also have to get to a place where I'm excited about dating, and I'm not."
He added to the cameras: "To be honest, I'm still emotionally dealing with the loss of that relationship. At some point, I have to ask the question what exactly am I doing here? So I'm confused."
He then broke down in tears while having a heart-to-heart with host Chris Harrison.
"Right here, right now, it just doesn't feel right," he said. "My fear is that if I were to be broken again, I'm not full enough right now to recover from that."
He also explained that the comments on social media and online post- Lauren split with people saying things like "Did you really love her? Did you really care?" affected him.
“When something so real to you then seems so small to everybody else — and not just friends and family, [but] millions of people — it breaks you every day, and that's what sucks, because as much as I've moved on — and I have — it still hurts, even though we're months past it."
Ben and Lauren got engaged on the finale of his season of The Bachelor in 2016 and later starred in spinoff series Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After?. They split in May 2017 and Lauren is now dating Devin Antin whom she met on Tinder.
