Kristen Bell voiced one of Disney’s most beloved heroines in Frozen so it’s no surprise she’s a bad ass at home too. In a new interview with Us Weekly, the mom of two shared how she makes changes to fairytales to help empower her daughters Lincoln, 4, and Delta, 3.
“I see a lot of books my daughters are given,” Kristen said. “And it’s all about the prince wanting to marry the princess and all he does is kiss her and she says ‘Yes!’”
After reading the books to her kids, she continued: “I say, ‘I wonder why he didn’t get to know her? I wonder why he didn’t ask her whether she wanted to marry him?’ It’s a really tiny change, but I’m definitely working toward empowering them.”
To the man who I've known for an eternity yet learn new things about everyday; who has been with me through thick and thin(and loved my 47lbs of baby weight); who is as interested in PDA as I am; who tattooed my last name on his ring finger beacuse he hates jewelry; who always puts up our Xmas lights; and who never fails to mock my red carpet pose. I love u with my whole ♥️@daxshepard
The actress, who is married to Dax Shepard, also shared that her kids go to a preschool “that prides itself in emotional learning.”
“When the kids get physical with each other — which they do because they’re all feral at this point — they teach them to say things like, ‘I don’t like it when you touch my body like that,’” she shared. “They say that to me: ‘I don’t like having my hair touched.’”
Kristen and Dax are regularly praised by fans for their candid interviews, including that one time she infamously said they don’t believe in “the one.”
